Ms. Chen- Reading Interventionist & Resource Project Manager
Ms. Chen was born and grew up in Taiwan until she was 20. She came to the U.S. for her undergraduate and graduate studies in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She taught English as a Foreign Language at higher education institutes in Taiwan for eight years. She received her Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Studies from the University of New Mexico in 2018. Before joining the ASK Academy, Ms. Chen taught ELA, Reading, Consumer Math, and Targeted Assistance at the Public Academy for Performing Arts for a year.
Ms. Chen lived in Chicagoland for 11.5 years and moved back to the Land of Enchantment/ Entrapment with her family in 2022. She has three dogs and loves spending time making friends with wildlife. She dreams of having her own animal sanctuary to rescue and rehabilitate animals.
Ms. Chen always wanted to be a teacher since her childhood. She always enjoys helping and learning with students. This is her second year teaching Reading Intervention and High School Resource classes at the Academy. She is very excited to meet with the wonderful scholars here.
