Ms. Janet Armstead - HS Project Manager - Environmental Science/ Geometry/ Principles of Engineering

Welcome! I am Janet Armstead and I am teaching Environmental Science, Geometry, and Principles of Engineering this year. I'm excited to be starting at the ASK Academy and I look forward to working with you.

 

I’ve been married for 21 years and have three pets. I’ve been a secondary teacher of math & science for 8 years and I’ve also taught Biology labs at San Diego State University.  My educational background includes undergraduate degrees in both Biology and Electrical Engineering (not simultaneous). I’ve also held a variety of positions in engineering.  In my spare time I enjoy soccer, tennis, hiking, travel, music, and reading.

 

As a teacher, I aim to provide opportunities for students to progress in their knowledge, critical thinking skills, confidence, and interpersonal skills via challenging activities (both collaborative and individual) so that they are prepared to take on diverse challenges beyond high school.
